Glastonbury 2002 :: 27th June - 30th June @ Worthy Farm, Somerset Thursday 27th June Me, Joo, Carmen and Cook trekked down to Glastonbury early on Thursday morning. Tents, sleeping bags and a shedload of beer and cheeky vimto. Oh and THAT bogey! Fired up and ready to go, we set off on our 5 hour / 240 mile journey. Listening to Radio 1 breakfast with Scott Mills. He asked anyone who was travelling to Glasto to text him. So I texted him and asked him to mention us. He only rang us back and we were LIVE on Radio 1!!! Famous at last! Arrived at Worthy Farm in
Pilton, Somerset at 10:00 am. Loaded the bogey up and started the
long half hour slog from the car park to the camping ground. Managed to get to Pedestrian Gate C with only 3 wheels. Got our wristbands and took as much through as we could, leaving the bogey with the stewards. Collected the bogey a bit later. Carmen and Joo stayed with the
sleeping bags and other bits, whilst me and Cook tried to find a camping
spot. This was a bad idea as the bogey was just way too heavy to
carry especially with all the beer on it.
After setting up tent and getting stuff sorted, we ventured out into the main areas of the festival. Most of the regular Glasto traders were there again - Joe Bananas Blanket stall, Garlic Kitchen, Workers Beer Company and many more. Grabbed some food and just chilled out in the Healing fields. That's the place to see some of the real festival 'people'. Guy in a suit, bouncing about shouting 'mushrooms' was one of the highlights of today! Headed back to the tent and finished off some more beer. By this time, we were all finished ourselves.
